Effective from: 06.11.2026
This Privacy Policy sets out the rules governing the processing of personal data of users of the website https://www.redemo.eu/ (hereinafter: the Website). The University of Wrocław takes particular care to respect users’ privacy and processes data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR). This document explains how personal data is processed and what rights data subjects have.
1. Data controller
The data controller is the University of Wrocław, pl. Uniwersytecki 1, 50-137 Wrocław, NIP: 8960005408, REGON: 000001301 (hereinafter: UWr).
The Data Protection Officer can be contacted by email: iod@uwr.edu.pl or by telephone: +48 71 375 26 04.
In matters concerning the Website itself, you can also contact the Centre’s team at: aleksandra.maatsch@uwr.edu.pl
2. Purposes and legal bases for processing
UWr processes the personal data of Website users for the following purposes:
- Contact – if a user sends us a message (by email [or via a contact form]), we process their first name, surname, email address and other data contained in the message in order to respond to the enquiry (legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR – the controller’s legitimate interest in communicating with persons interested in the Centre’s activities).
- Statistical and analytical purposes – data on user activity on the Website may be collected to analyse traffic, improve the quality of the Website and tailor content to the needs of its audience. Where this requires storing information on the user’s device (e.g. cookies), it takes place only after consent has been given (legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR – consent of the data subject).
- Ensuring security – technical data such as IP address, browser type, time of access and information about the subpages visited are collected to protect the Website against misuse and to maintain the efficiency and integrity of the IT infrastructure (legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR – the controller’s legitimate interest).
Providing data is voluntary; however, when you contact us, it is necessary in order for us to respond.
3. Recipients of data and hosting
The Website is hosted on the servers of an external hosting provider – SIA “lab9.pro” (brand: elinks.hosting), established in a Member State of the European Union (Latvia). This provider processes technical data related to the operation of the Website solely on behalf of UWr and on the basis of a data processing agreement (Article 28 of the GDPR).
Data may also be disclosed to entities supporting UWr in the provision of IT services (e.g. technical support for the Website) and to authorised UWr staff, to the extent necessary to achieve the above purposes. Data is not sold or disclosed to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Transfers of data outside the European Economic Area
Data collected in connection with the hosting of the Website is processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). UWr does not transfer it to third countries. [If external content is embedded in the Website (e.g. YouTube videos, maps, Google Fonts), the providers of that content may process user data outside the EEA, in particular in the United States, on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.] Detailed information on the safeguards applied can be obtained by contacting the Data Protection Officer: iod@uwr.edu.pl.
5. Data retention period
We retain personal data for the period necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected:
- Data processed on the basis of consent – until consent is withdrawn.
- Correspondence data – for the time necessary to respond to the enquiry and resolve the matter, and then for the period required by archiving regulations or until the limitation period for any potential claims has expired.
- Technical and analytical data (including server logs) – for no longer than 12 months, after which it is deleted or permanently anonymised.
6. Rights of data subjects
Every data subject has the following rights:
- the right of access to data and to receive a copy thereof;
- the right to rectification of data if it is incorrect or incomplete;
- the right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’), provided there are no grounds for further processing;
- the right to restrict processing;
- the right to data portability – where processing is based on consent and carried out by automated means;
- the right to object to processing based on the controller’s legitimate interest;
- the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal;
- the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO) (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw) if you consider that the processing of data infringes the law.
You can exercise the above rights by contacting the Data Protection Officer (iod@uwr.edu.pl).
7. Cookies
The Website uses cookies. Necessary cookies ensure the proper functioning and security of the Website. Other cookies, in particular analytical cookies [e.g. Google Analytics] or cookies from external providers, are stored only with the user’s consent, which can be withdrawn at any time in the browser settings [or in the cookie settings panel on the Website].
Disabling cookies necessary for authentication, security and the retention of user preferences may hinder, and in extreme cases prevent, the use of the Website.
8. Data collected automatically
When using the Website, the following technical data is collected automatically: the device’s IP address, browser type, operating system, date and time of access, and information about the pages and subpages visited. We use this data:
- to ensure the proper functioning and security of the Website, including protection against cyber-attacks and misuse;
- to administer the Website and diagnose technical issues;
- to carry out anonymous statistical analyses.
The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR), which consists in ensuring security, technical efficiency and the optimisation of the Website. This data is stored for a maximum of 12 months.
9. Links to other websites
The Website may contain links to external websites managed by other entities. UWr does not control, nor is it responsible for, the data protection practices of those websites. We recommend that users familiarise themselves with their privacy policies before using them or providing them with their personal data.
10. Changes to the Privacy Policy
UWr reserves the right to update this Policy in order to bring it into line with changes in legislation or in the way the Website operates. Information regarding any change will be published on the Website, together with the date on which the change comes into effect.
